Life in your 20s can be pretty chaotic and busy — you have lots of goals you want to achieve, like your career and things in your personal life. This can bring a lot of stress and make your skin breakout, which can stress you out even more. It’s actually an endless cycle.

Here, Brian Williams Dermatology and other dermatologists in Sandy give a couple of tips to make sure you keep your skin looking fantastic.

Make Sure to Double Cleanse

Double cleansing will help ensure that your skin is purged from all of the dirt and makeup that are currently stuck on the surface of your skin. This will help ensure that the dirt will not seep through your pores, as letting it go deep inside your pores will result in a breakout.

First, use a liquid makeup remover to remove the first layer of makeup and dirt on your skin. Micellar waters and oil-based makeup removers are amazing choices, especially if you want to really get deep into your pores. Next, use a cream or gel-based skin cleanser and cleanse your face with it. Rinse with water after and pat your skin dry.

You do not have to do this every single time you wash your face. Once a day is enough, preferably during the night, before you go to bed.

Use an Eye Cream

Yes, it is a must to use an eye cream as early as now. You might not be seeing wrinkles on your skin yet, but remember that prevention is key. Do not use an extremely thick eye cream, as this can clog your pores and make your skin too oily or even dried out.

Use a thin layer of eye cream before you go to bed at night. Apply it with the tip of your ring finger since, among all of your fingers, this is the one with the most delicate touch.

Treat That Acne and Pimples ASAP

Adult acne is definitely a thing for some people, and it is extremely important to act on it as soon as possible. If you see a couple of zits that are about to pop out, make sure to use a facial wash that has salicylic acid in it, as this can help dry out your pimples. You can also spot-treat it by using a cream or gel that has tea tree in it.

If your acne and pimples are persistent and you are having a difficult time getting rid of it, then go ahead and visit your dermatologist right away, as they can surely help you by giving you the right products to use.

Do Not Forget Your Sunscreen

Sunscreen never goes out of style, as it’s a beauty essential. It should always be in your purse, as the sun can damage your skin easily. Exposing your skin to too much UV rays can increase your chances of getting an uneven skin tone, freckles, pimples, and even skin cancer. Always apply sunscreen before putting on your makeup and reapply it at any time of the day if you need to.

Always visit your dermatologist every once in a while to make sure that your skin gets the TLC that it needs.
