Beauty is a subjective topic that can always spark debate among people. Being presentable, however, is another thing. This is an area where many would agree that everyone should spend a good amount of effort. It can signify professionalism, cleanliness, and confidence. For the latter though, there is one little thing that could shatter it, and that is acne. You will have those days when you have yourself already dressed up and pumped to go to work, only to get disappointed when you look into a mirror and find a pimple on your forehead or cheek. It will no doubt attract unwanted attention even when you are in a serious conversation.

While there are some people who feel that they need to get acne scar laser treatment after failed attempts at treating it, it is also a good idea to work on having preventive measures against it. It is common knowledge that oil and dirt make up acne’s foundations. But even if you are diligent with your skincare, there are still instances that fall through the cracks. It is the subtle ways that you can your skin blemished that you have to look out for.

Fluffy Culprits

The bedroom should be the coziest place in the house. It is where you retreat so you can get rest after a long day at work. But depending on how you maintain it, it can also be the primary source of dust that can clog your pores and infect your skin with acne. The first thing you have to target are your pillows. Your face will be in direct contact with them for the duration of your sleep time. You are told to keep your hands clean all the time so you would not get your face dirty, and the same goes for your pillowcases. These will gather dust over time, so you need to have clean ones ready for constant rotation.

The same goes for your blankets. The temptation to bury yourself under its soft and fluffy fabric is hard to ignore, so try to keep it away from your face as much as possible. Wearing clothes that cover your arms could help you keep warm without having to use the blanket to cover your upper body.

Bad Hair Day

Your hair is a big part of your style. You want to make sure that you have it arranged nicely to enhance your looks. At the very least, you want to avoid it looking unkempt. Although washing it on a regular basis comes naturally, there could be times that you do that in a hasty manner especially when you are in a hurry. Rinsing is an important part of the cleaning process. If you are not thorough, this will leave residue from your shampoo or conditioner when your hair dries. Particles from this will then stick on the strands, which will brush against your skin and irritate it. Make it a point to give yourself enough time in the shower so you can get everything rinsed out.

Throughout your day, your hair attracts a lot of particles from the environment, mainly dirt and dust. It does not hurt to wash it when you get home. But if you will do that before bedtime, make sure to dry it completely before lying down to avoid breakage.

The Urban Environment

You also have to be mindful of the environment you are in. The modern world may have given you a lot of conveniences, but it is also rife with elements that can harm your skin. Pollution from road vehicles is an obvious source of dirt particles. Combine that with the sweat on your face due to the heat, and you have a recipe for acne.

But it is not just the outdoors that you have to worry about. Most office spaces have carpets that become prime areas where dust can build up. You may have no idea of how frequent general cleaning happens here. For your peace of mind, you can opt to do some cleaning of your own whenever you like. Equipment like desks, computers, and monitors also get dusty, so giving them a wipe every week or every day could do wonders. If you want to go the extra mile, you can bring your own handheld vacuum cleaner which you can also use on your chair.

The battle for you to keep your face away from tiny debris and particles is something that you have to deal with every day. While you already have established anti-acne routines like personal grooming going on in your life, knowing the subtle ways your skin gets infected is a godsend as it helps you defend it at a broader level. The threat of acne will always be there in one form or another, but it is better if you have more guns to fight it.
